HERNOHerno was founded in 1948 in Lesa, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Raincoats, first for men and later for women, were Herno's first products. To make the cotton for these coats waterproof, they used castor oil. The name stems from the river Erno, just around the original business premises. From raincoats the collection was enlarged and has diversified into all forms of outerwear. The product is at the heart of the brand. Focus point is the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. Today Herno’s outerwear garments are known for durability, function and minimalistic design. At AART we especially like the Laminar collection. Herno Laminar combines the traditional Italian aesthetics with the use of high end technical materials normally found with brands specialising in garments for skiing and mountaineering. Herno Laminar uses both the 2 layer and the 3 layer Gore Tex materials, for coats that are at home both in the city as into the wild. Herno an Herno Laminar are available in both our Rotterdam store and online in our webstore.
